This SOP outlines the steps to share a folder with someone who does not have authorized access, either within or outside your organization.

Steps to Reproduce Folder Sharing Bug in OneDrive

 

1. Access OneDrive 0:13

  • Open your web browser.

  • Navigate to OneDrive (this can also be done in SharePoint or Microsoft Teams).

 

2. Select the Folder 0:24

  • Locate the folder you want to share.

  • Right-click on the folder.

 

3. Share the Folder 0:24

  • Select 'Share' from the context menu.

 

4. Enter Recipient's Email 0:40

  • Input the email address of the person you want to share the folder with (e.g., an external Gmail account).

 

5. Acknowledge External Access 0:47

  • Click 'Continue' to acknowledge that the recipient is outside your organization.

 

6. Send the Invitation 0:55

  • Click 'Send' to share the folder.

 

7. External User Receives Email 1:06

  • The recipient will receive an email with a link to the shared folder.

 

8. Confirm Identity 1:18

  • The recipient must enter their email again to confirm their identity.

 

9. Enter Two-Factor Authentication Code 1:26

  • The recipient will receive a two-factor authentication code via email.

  • Copy the code and paste it into the verification field.

 

10. Access the Shared Folder 1:42

  • Once verified, the recipient will gain access to the shared folder.
